Athletes from 17 countries come to Wisła

The 2017/2018 Ski Jumping World Cup season for the first time in history starts in Wisła-Malinka next weekend. All the best atletes from the world will participate in the event.

 

71 ski jumpers from 17 different countries will participate in the first event of the Olympic season. World Cup opening will take place this weekend (17th-19th of November) at Adam-Małysz-hill in Wisła-Malinka.On Friday at 6pm (17th of November) they will jump in qualifications for Sunday's individual competition. Team competition starts at 4pm on Satruday, whereas the individual event is planned for Sunday at 3pm.

Athletes from following countries will jump in Wisła-Malinka: 7 from Austria, 1 from Bulgaria, 4 from Czech Republic, 2 from Estonia, 3 from Finland, 1 from France, 7 from Germany, 4 from Italy, 5 from Japan, 2 from Kazakhstan, 1 from South Korea, 6 from Norway, 12 from Poland, 4 from Russia, 7 from Slovenia, 4 from Switzerland, and finally 1 from Ukraine.

12 polish ski jumpers will participate in Friday's qualifactions for the individual event.We will see the gold medalists from Lahti - Kamil Stoch, Maciej Kot, Piotr Żyła and Dawid Kubacki.Stefan Horngacher also decided to give the chance to participate in the event to Jakub Wolny, Stefan Hula, Klemens Murańka, Przemysław Kantyka, Aleksander Zniszczoł and Jan Ziobro.What is more, two athletes from the youth team will jump on Friday - Paweł Wąsek and Bartosz Czyż. For both of them it will be a debut in the Grand Prix.
