Kamil Stoch needed to jump only 0.5 meter more to beat Anders Fannemel’s (NOR) summer hill record from 2016. With his amazing jump of 137 meters of distance Kamil Stoch won with no doubt the qualification for Sunday’s individual competition which will take place at Adam Małysz Hill in Wisła-Malinka. Piotr Żyła was placed just behind him with a jump of 131 meters. 11 Polish ski jumpers will compete in Sunday’s event.

First to be cheered up in the qualification by Polish fans were the ski jumpers from Polish ski jumpers from national team B whose coach is Maciej Maciusiak. Definitely the best of them was Aleksander Zniszczoł who with his jump of 126.5 meters was placed at 6th position. A permission to jump in the individual competition also got Tomasz Pilch (11th place), Paweł Wąsek (12th place) and Przemysław Kantyka (22nd place). Only Andrzej Stękała from national team B didn’t manage to jump further than the construction point, but all in all he will perform on Sunday.

Piotr Żyła from national team A made a good performance and he finished the qualification at second position. All his jumps were longer than 130 meters. All other ski jumpers trained by Stefan Horngacher didn’t have any problems to qualify to Sunday’s individual competition.

62 ski jumpers from all over the world took part in the qualification event (Aleksiej Korolew from Kazakhstan was disqualified due to irregular suit). First round of the team competition starts at 5.30 on Saturday. It will be the only one team competition in FIS Grand Prix 2018. The individual competition will start on Sunday at the same time.
